Interview with Matt Mickiewicz

At the recent Elite Retreat in San Francisco I had the chance to spend time with Matt Mickiewicz, the founder of SitePoint, 99designs, and Flippa.com. As I learned more about what he has done I thought it would be a great story to share in an interview.

The things you can learn from this interview are invaluable in understanding how to build a successful Interwebs business. It may not be SEO advice, but it is invaluable just the same. I have long believed that its so easy to get advice these days. The problem what we all must solve at the end of the day is how to integrate that advice in a meaningful way into our businesses. This is where Matt’s experiences are so invaluable.

Great interview. I read right through the whole thing. Matt is quite the risk taker but his ability to adapt has set him up for life! I wish I had the know how to bring my ideas to fruition. Also I have been a member of Sitepoint forums for years. And was shocked when they moved to nofollow in their signatures. I wonder how many people quit using Sitepoint.

  2. I have enjoyed Sitepoint for several years now and have taken a few timely courses. The courses helped me decide to buy the books, which have a technical and non-technical bent. Practical CSS! Wicked WordPress Themes, HTML5 and CSS3. The recently launched learnable.com should be interesting to follow as it builds against a more cluttered space.
Thanks for a great interview Eric, glad to have found this in your Tweets.
