kimkim is an online travel company which was recently founded by a team of experienced entrepreneurs and engineers who played key roles at companies including TripAdvisor and EveryTrail. The kimkim team asked Stone Temple to help it rank better for some of its most important search phrases, and to improve its organic search traffic.
Kimkim’s business mission is to push the travel industry towards a more authentic and local experience, while still maintaining high quality and a sense of trust. This is achieved by partnering with local travel guides, who create useful insights and information aiming at a genuine experience for their visitors.
Stone Temple’s Solution
Stone Temple performed an exhaustive audit of the site. This entailed using our proprietary STC SEOCrawl™ tool, conducting an extensive manual inspection of the site, and mining and analyzing data from Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
Working together, kimkim and Stone Temple created an SEO road map and strategy to identify and rank for long-tail search phrases.
Stone Temple then recommended an off page content strategy to help boost rankings. Kimkim’s local travel guides created original articles that were then published on high authority, relevant sites. To further improve kimkim’s rankings, Stone Temple provided guidance in building high quality, relevant content for their own site as well.
Since the engagement began, Stone Temple has helped kimkim boost its long-tail search rankings significantly. Kimkim now ranks in the top five results for high-value terms. For example, kimkim ranks #3 for “nepal travel expert,” #1 for “nepal short treks,” #5 for “Manaslu Trek” and so on. Stone Temple has assisted kimkim in achieving a 300% organic search traffic increase from May to August.
I like Stone Temple’s team approach. I also like the fact that, in your company, you’ve got a lot of subject matter experts. In all aspects, we were really pleased. It moved us forward in a lot of different ways—performance for one, but also in terms of our knowledge level. We’re now better able to manage our business.”
