Shields of Strength’s Challenge
As a specialty jewelry manufacturer targeting the military and fitness/sports communities, Shields of Strength (SoS) built its business selling wholesale to retail stores. SoS knew in order to grow sales, they needed to expand into the online direct-to-consumer. They made the move several years ago, but sales were not where they wanted them to be. SoS knew that in order to grow its e-commerce direct-to-consumer business they needed to take a hard look at their underperforming SEO profile.
Stone Temple’s Solution
Stone Temple performed an exhaustive audit of the site. This entailed using our proprietary STC SEOCrawl™ tool, conducting an extensive manual inspection of the site, and mining and analyzing data from Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
Stone Temple identified and recommended resolution of technical issues that should be addressed immediately. Utilizing Stone Temple’s Semantic Content Optimizer™, Stone Temple also recommended an on-page content strategy that included new opportunities based on head search terms that were surfaced during the research and analysis.
During the engagement, Shields of Strength sought Stone Temple’s guidance on how to create and implement an effective and user-friendly blog and how to implement a content marketing strategy in support of SEO.
Stone Temple also helped SoS to develop a social campaign to boost their authority and recognition with consumers. The campaign included #showyourstrength which was widely shared during an annual sports festival, the Arnold Classic. Since then, SoS has incorporated the #tag into their Social program going forward.
Since their engagement with Stone Temple, SoS has had an increase in online sales, especially in their higher-end product line. They have also experience a positive impact in their SEO ranking performance and increased organic search visibility.
Not only did Shields of Strength benefit by a lift in online awareness and a gain in B to C sales but they also obtained a deeper understanding and working knowledge about digital marketing during the engagement, which their internal team will be able to leverage going forward.
You want to work with people who have a strong opinion, and who know their stuff really well, and who can push you in the right direction. Stone Temple’s consultants are very knowledgeable and push back to tell us when they think we’re wrong. It’s like having a partner at the same level.”
